This video shows you how to answer a request for feedback about a mentor. A mentor is taking the Christian Leader Mentor Assessment, and has asked for your feedback. You do not need an account. Answer on the web page linked from your email. The email comes from Verve Lead. Its subject names the mentor. Select Provide Feedback to open your page. The link lasts 14 days. Anyone with it can answer, so keep it private. Before the first question, the page tells you who will see your answers. Your answers are not anonymous. The mentor sees them averaged with others in your group. If you are the only one in your group, they see your answers as they are. The top bar shows how many of the 93 questions you have answered. There are 13 sections. Each covers an area of mentoring, such as Mature Disciple. One means Never. Five means Always. For each statement, choose one number. When every statement in a section has an answer, select Next Section. Select Previous to go back. Your answers stay in place. Keep going to the last section. The bar then shows all 93 questions answered. Then select Submit Feedback. On the web, we only save your answers when you select Submit Feedback. So answer in one sitting. The page then thanks you. It confirms that Sandra can now see your answers. You can answer only once. After you submit, you cannot change your answers. If the page says Unable to Load Feedback Form, read the reason underneath. If it says Invalid or expired invitation, look for a newer email from Verve Lead, or ask the mentor. If you would rather not answer, it is kind to tell the mentor yourself. To stop all invitations from Verve Lead, select Stop invitation emails at the foot of the email. Then select Stop these emails. Thank you for taking the time to give honest feedback.

Narration is AI-generated. Every screen is from our demo environment – an invented organisation and people.

A mentor uses the Christian Leader Mentor Assessment to see how their mentoring looks to the people around them. They answer the statements about themselves. Then they ask people who know their mentoring to answer the same statements about them.

You may have been asked as their supervisor, as their peer, or as someone they mentor or lead.

You do not need an account. You answer on a web page, through a private link in your email. If you already use the Verve Lead app on iPhone or iPad, you may be able to answer there instead.

What does the invitation look like?

The email comes from Verve Lead, headed “360° Leadership Feedback Request”. It names the mentor, says how they know you, and tells you before you begin who will see your answers.

Select Provide Feedback to open your page. The link lasts 14 days. Anyone with the link can answer in your place, so please keep the email to yourself.

Who will see my answers?

The page tells you before the first question. The mentor sees your answers averaged with others who answer in the same group as you – supervisors, peers or mentees. If you are the only one in your group, the mentor sees your answers as they are.

The mentor chose who to invite, so they will know you have responded. Please answer honestly and with care.

The note at the top says who will see your answers.

The mentor’s results show how many people answered in each group, then the scores for each group.

The mentor's view: responses counted by group.

A group can be held back from this view when some of its answers were given under our earlier note. Who else can see this? at the end of this page explains why.

How do I answer on the web?

  1. Read the note at the top about who will see your answers.
  2. Work through the 13 sections. Each one covers an area of mentoring, such as Mature Disciple or Building Relational Bond.
  3. For each statement, choose how often it is true of the mentor, from 1 (Never) to 5 (Always).
  4. When every statement in the section has an answer, select Next Section. Previous takes you back.
  5. In the last section, select Submit Feedback.

The bar at the top shows which section you are in and how many of the 93 statements you have answered.

Choose from 1 to 5 for each statement.

How do I answer on iPhone or iPad?

The Verve Lead app for iPhone and iPad is in testing.

A request appears in the app only if you sign in with the email address the invitation went to. You also need to belong to the same organisation as the mentor. Otherwise, use the link in your email.

  1. On Home, tap the banner that says a colleague has asked for your feedback. You can also go to Assessments and find Feedback requests.
  2. Tap Give feedback for and the mentor’s name. The line underneath shows your perspective, such as “Supervisor perspective”, and the date to answer by.
  3. Each statement has its own screen. Choose how often it is true of the mentor, from Never to Always. The app usually moves on by itself. Back and Next let you move around.
  4. After the last statement, check the Review screen.
  5. Tap Submit feedback.

A banner across the top reminds you that you are describing the mentor, not yourself, and who will see your answers.

If the banner says your answers are anonymous to the mentor, you have an older test version of the app. We keep that promise for answers you give there. Who else can see this? at the end of this page explains how.

Requests wait under Assessments.
One statement at a time.

On iPad, the same screens sit beside a sidebar.

Giving feedback on iPad.

The app saves your answers on your device as you go. You can leave and come back to finish. If your answers do not send, they stay on your device until you tap Submit feedback again.

What happens when I submit?

  • On the web, the page thanks you and confirms that the mentor can now see your answers in their results.
  • In the app, the request leaves your list.
  • The mentor’s list of invitations shows that you have responded, and when.

You can only answer once. After you submit, you cannot change your answers.

The page says Unable to Load Feedback Form, with the reason underneath.

When a link cannot be used, the page says why.
What it saysWhat it means
This invitation has expiredMore than 14 days have passed. Ask the mentor to send it again.
You have already submitted feedbackYour answers are in. There is nothing more to do.
Invalid or expired invitationThe link is incomplete, or the mentor has replaced or cancelled it. Look for a newer email from Verve Lead, or ask the mentor.

When the mentor sends the invitation again, you get a new email with a link that lasts another 14 days. The earlier link stops working.

What if I would rather not answer?

That is your choice. If you leave it, the request waits until it expires. It is kind to let the mentor know yourself. The app has no button to decline a request.

To stop all invitations from Verve Lead, select Stop invitation emails at the foot of the email, then Stop these emails. This covers invitations to give feedback, to be mentored and to join an organisation. If someone tries to invite you again, we tell them you have asked not to receive invitations.

Still not sure?

Ask us and a real person will answer. If you lead an organisation and would like to see Verve Lead with your own leaders in mind, we would be glad to show you around.
