What can I do in the iPhone and iPad app?
The Verve Lead app for iPhone and iPad is in testing. Here is what it does, how to sign in, and how it looks on each device.
- Everyone
- iPhone
- iPad
Verve Lead has an app for iPhone and iPad. You can use it for your daily check-in, your assessments and your mentoring.
The app is in testing, so not everyone can get it yet.
How do I get the app?
We share test versions through Apple’s TestFlight app with the people helping us test it. If you would like to know when the app is ready for everyone, please contact us.
Until then, you can check in, take assessments and walk alongside your mentees in the web app, in your browser.
The app needs iOS 17 or iPadOS 17, or later. On your Home Screen, it is called Verve Lead.
What is in each section?
The app has up to 5 sections. On iPhone, they are tabs along the bottom of the screen.
| Section | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Home | Your latest check-in and 30-day average, and your assessments. It also shows anything waiting on you, such as a mentor asking to connect or a colleague asking for feedback. |
| Buoyancy | Your daily check-in, with your History and Stats. |
| Assessments | Take the Health of a Christian Leader Assessment (HCLA) – the Healthy Christian Leader card. See and share your results, compare them over time, and invite people to give feedback. The Christian Leader Mentor Assessment (the CLMA card) opens once you have completed your own HCLA. |
| Mentoring | Your mentees, their check-ins and results, your private notes, and a way to invite a new mentee. If you supervise mentors, you see them here too. |
| Settings | Your name and password, your daily reminder, your mentor, the Face ID lock, and help. |
You only see the sections that apply to you:
- Mentoring appears if you mentor others, or if you can see the wellbeing watchlist.
- Buoyancy does not appear if your organisation has switched daily check-ins off.
- An assessment your organisation has not switched on does not appear.
How do I sign in to the app?
- Open the app and enter your email address.
- Tap Email me a sign-in link.
- Open the email and follow the link. You can do this on your iPhone or iPad, or on another device such as your computer.
- Once you have opened the link, the app’s Check your email screen signs you in by itself.
If the email has not arrived, check your spam or junk folder. If you find it there, marking it as not spam helps the next one reach you.
The first time, use the emailed link. After that, if you have set a password, the app also offers Password sign-in on that device.
The app keeps you signed in until you tap Log Out in Settings. If your session ends for any other reason, the app takes you back to the sign-in screen and tells you why.
Soon after you sign in, the app asks if it may send you notifications. Allow them if you would like a daily reminder to check in. If we do not have your name yet, the app asks for it too, so your mentor sees your name rather than your email address.
For more about signing in, see How do I sign in?
How does the app look on iPad?
On an iPad using the full screen, a sidebar on the left lists the sections. The section you choose fills the rest of the screen. You can turn the iPad either way, but on iPhone the app stays upright.
In Split View, or in a narrow window beside another app, the app shows tabs along the bottom instead, as on iPhone. Finish typing a check-in note before you change the window size – the app may not keep half-written text when it switches.
What do I still need the web for?
A few things are only in the web app:
- running an organisation – inviting members, roles, groups, programmes and settings
- joining a programme with a code
- signing up for the weekly reading email.
You can change your daily reminder in either place.
Where do I find help in the app?
Go to Settings, then Help and support. You will find short articles chosen for your role. If you are still stuck, contact us.
