This guide shows what the audit log records. To find it, go to Organisation, then Audit log. The audit log is a dated record of sensitive changes in your organisation. It shows who changed someone’s role, or gave them duty of care. It also shows who accepted or ended a mentoring relationship. And who opened or closed a programme round. Organisation administrators can read all of the log, and so can Verve Lead’s platform administrators. The newest entries are at the top. Each entry has four columns: When, Actor, Action and Details. Actor is the person who made the change, with their email address. Details gives a short note, where there is one. To see one kind of change, open the list at the top right. Choose an action, such as programme created, to see only those entries. The log records changes. It does not record who looked at what. It never shows check-ins, notes, assessment answers or scores. The page shows the latest two hundred entries. Nothing in Verve Lead deletes entries from the log.
Narration is AI-generated. Every screen is from our demo environment – an invented organisation and people.
The audit log is a dated record of the sensitive changes in your organisation. It shows who changed someone’s role or gave someone duty of care. It also shows who accepted or ended a mentoring relationship, and who opened or closed a programme round.
When a question comes up about who changed what, and when, the answer is usually here.
Organisation administrators can read the log in the web app.
Where do I find it?
Go to Organisation, then Audit log. The newest entries are at the top.
Each entry has 4 columns:
- When – the date and time.
- Actor – the name and email address of the person who made the change.
- Action – what happened.
- Details – a short description, where there is one. For example, a role change shows the old and new role, and an invitation shows the email address invited.
What does it record?
The log shows some actions in lower case, such as programme created. This guide uses the same words, so you can match them.
People and roles
- Member invited, Bulk invite and invite resent – an administrator invited people, or sent an invitation again.
- Role changed – someone’s role was changed.
- Duty of care – someone was given duty of care, or had it taken away. The log also records this when a change of role takes it away.
- Member removed – someone was removed from the organisation.
Mentoring
- Mentor assigned – an administrator chose a mentor for someone, or removed someone’s mentor. The person usually has to accept the mentor before they are linked.
- Mentor invited mentee – a mentor invited someone by email.
- consent request resent – a request to accept a mentor was sent again.
- Consent accepted, Consent declined and Consent revoked – someone accepted or declined a mentor, or a mentoring relationship was ended. The actor is the person who did it.
- assessment requested – a mentor asked a mentee to take an assessment.
Groups and programmes
- group created and group deleted.
- programme created, programme before opened, programme before closed, programme after opened and programme after closed – a programme was created, or one of its rounds opened or closed.
- Programme cancelled, Programme deleted and Taken off a programme.
- Join code created and Join code turned off – the code itself is never recorded.
- Joined via code – someone joined with a code. The details show their email address, the programme, and whether they were measured by the round or joined the group only.
Settings
- country change – your organisation’s country was changed.
Changes Verve Lead’s own staff make in your organisation appear too, under their name.
What does it not record?
- Who looked at what. The log records changes, not views. It does not show who opened a page or read someone’s results.
- Some everyday changes, such as adding people to a group or taking them out, and changes to your organisation’s name, logo or colours.
- The person affected, for some actions. A role change or a removal, for example, shows who made the change but not who it affected. If you need to know, ask the person who made it.
- Anyone’s check-ins, notes, answers or scores.
How do I find an entry?
Use the list at the top right of the log. It starts on All actions. Choose an action to see only those entries. The list only offers actions that appear in your log.
The page shows your latest 200 entries. We keep older entries, but the page does not show them. If you need an older entry, contact us.
How long are entries kept?
Nothing in Verve Lead deletes entries from the log. They are removed only if your organisation itself is removed from Verve Lead.
If the account of the person who made a change is later deleted, the entry stays, with a dash in place of their name.
