This video shows you how to invite people to give feedback on your Health of a Christian Leader assessment. It uses the web app. The iPhone and iPad app is in testing. First, go to Assessments. On the Health of a Christian Leader card, select Take Again. Under Choose Your Assessment Type, you can pick 180 degree feedback or 360 degree feedback. These open once you have completed your own assessment. A 180 degree assessment adds feedback from your spouse, your supervisor, or both. A 360 degree assessment adds a wider circle. It includes your spouse and supervisor, plus peers and direct reports. Select 360 degree feedback. Answer the statements about yourself. Select a number for each one. When you reach the last section, select Submit Assessment. The Send Feedback Invitations page opens. Type their email address. The name is optional. It helps you keep track of who you asked. Before they answer, each person is told that you will see their answers, labelled with their relationship to you, and that you will know they responded. Choose their relationship type. For example, Direct Report. Select Send Invitation. Repeat this for each person you want to ask. Each person shows as pending until they respond, or until their link runs out. To come back to this page later, select History on the Health of a Christian Leader card. Then open the assessment marked Awaiting Feedback. This example is an earlier 360, so you can see every status. The Sent Invitations list shows where each person is up to. Completed means they have responded. Expired means the link has run out. To remind someone, select Resend beside their name. If their link has run out, select Send again. A reminder sends a fresh link that works for another 14 days. To withdraw an invitation, select Cancel, then confirm. Their link stops working straight away.

Narration is AI-generated. Every screen is from our demo environment – an invented organisation and people.

Your own answers show how you see yourself. A 180° or 360° assessment adds the view of people who know you well. Their answers can confirm what you already sense, or show you something you could not see on your own.

Which should I choose – 180° or 360°?

TypeWho it is for
180° FeedbackYour spouse, your supervisor, or both.
360° FeedbackA wider circle: your spouse and supervisor, plus peers and the people you lead.

Either way, you start a new assessment. You answer the statements about yourself first, then invite people to rate the same statements about you.

On the web

  1. Go to Assessments. On the Health of a Christian Leader card, select Take Again.
  2. Under Choose Your Assessment Type, select 180° Feedback or 360° Feedback.
  3. Answer the statements about yourself and submit them, as you would for a personal reflection.
  4. The Send Feedback Invitations page opens. Enter the person’s Email Address and, if you like, their name.
  5. Choose their Relationship Type: Spouse, Supervisor, Peer/Colleague or Direct Report.
  6. Select Send Invitation. Repeat for each person you want to ask.
Choose 180° or 360° to invite others.
Invite one person at a time.

The name is optional. It helps you keep track of who you asked, and we use it in the emails that follow. It never appears in your results.

On iPhone and iPad

The Verve Lead app for iPhone and iPad is in testing.

  1. Go to Assessments. On the Healthy Christian Leader card, tap Take again.
  2. Tap 180° feedback or 360° feedback.
  3. Answer the statements about yourself, then tap Submit assessment.
  4. Your results open with a Waiting on feedback banner. Tap Manage invitations.
  5. Under Invite people, enter an Email, a name if you like, and the Relationship. Tap Add to list.
  6. Add everyone you want to ask – up to 20 at a time. Then tap the send button. It shows how many you are sending – for example, Send 3 invitations.
Choose a type on iPhone.
Invite people and track their responses.

What will the people I invite receive?

  • An email saying you have asked for their feedback, and in what relationship – for example, as your spouse.
  • A plain notice, in the email and again before they start. It says you will see each of their answers under their relationship to you, and will know they responded.
  • A Provide Feedback button. They do not need an account, and the link works for 14 days.
  • The statements you answered, to rate as true of you over the past month.
  • A thank-you email once they submit.

Each invitation email has a Stop invitation emails link. If someone has used it, you cannot send them an invitation. To see their side, read answering a feedback request.

How do I know who has responded?

On the web, the Send Feedback Invitations page counts Completed, Pending and Total Invited. Sent Invitations lists each person with their status, and when a pending invitation expires.

Each person, and where they are up to.

Each time someone responds, we email you. The email gives their name – or “Someone you invited” if you left it blank – and how many people are still to respond. The View Assessment Status button brings you back to this page.

To find it later, select History on the Health of a Christian Leader card and open the assessment marked Awaiting Feedback. On iPhone and iPad, the Healthy Christian Leader card offers View results so far and Manage invitations while you wait.

Can I send a reminder?

Yes. We do not send reminders automatically, so you choose when to nudge someone.

  • On the web, select Resend beside the person, or Send again if their link has run out.
  • On iPhone and iPad, tap the menu beside the person, then Resend invitation, or Reinvite if their link has run out.

A reminder sends a fresh link that works for another 14 days. The earlier link stops working.

To withdraw an invitation, select Cancel on the web or Cancel invitation in the app. Their link stops working straight away. Once someone has responded, you cannot cancel their invitation.

How do their answers show in my results?

Your scores combine your answers with theirs, and each person counts equally. Your results update each time someone responds, and the score panel says how many responses they are based on.

Your own answers, plus 4 other people's.

In the detail behind each behavioural expression, each person’s answers sit in their own column. The column is labelled by their relationship to you – such as Spouse or Supervisor – never by name.

Some people gave feedback when raters were told their answers would be anonymous. Their answers still count towards your scores, but are not shown one by one. On the web, the breakdown says when this applies.

Your 180° or 360° stays marked Awaiting Feedback, even after everyone has responded. On the web, open it from History and select View Results once at least one person has responded. For a walk through the results page, see reading your HCLA results.

What about feedback on my mentoring?

If you mentor others, the Christian Leader Mentor Assessment has its own way to ask your supervisor, peers and mentees how they see your mentoring. See taking the mentor assessment.

Every screenshot here is from our demo environment – an invented organisation, invented people.

Still not sure?

Ask us and a real person will answer. If you lead an organisation and would like to see Verve Lead with your own leaders in mind, we would be glad to show you around.
