This guide shows you how to join a programme with a code. At an event, the organisation may put a code on the screen. You do not need an account, or a password. If you cannot scan the QR code, open the join page and type the code. The code has eight letters and numbers, shown in two groups of four. You can type it in capitals or lower case. The hyphen is optional. Once you have typed all eight characters, the page names the programme. Check the programme and the organisation at the top. Then read the box that starts, You’re joining. It tells you what the organisation will see. Enter your first name and your email address. Your last name and mobile number are optional. Select Email me a link. The page then says, Check your email. If nothing arrives, check your spam or junk folder, then select Send it again. Open the email, and select Join and start. Nothing happens to your account until you open the link. When you open it, select Sign in to Verve Lead. We sign you in and take you straight to the assessment. The link lasts seven days, so you can open it later. If the page says a programme has finished, ask the person running the session for a new code. The iPhone and iPad app is in testing. It has no place to enter a code, so join in your phone’s web browser instead.

Narration is AI-generated. Every screen is from our demo environment – an invented organisation and people.

Some organisations run a programme – for example, around a retreat or a season of training. The programme asks a group to take the Health of a Christian Leader Assessment twice – at the start, and again later. That way, the organisation can see how the group as a whole has travelled.

At an event, the organisation may put a code on the screen so you can join yourself. You do not need an account or a password.

How do I join?

  1. Scan the QR code with your phone’s camera and open the link. If you cannot scan it, go to app.vervelead.com/join and type the code.
  2. Check the programme and organisation named at the top. If they are not what you expected, check the code before you go any further.
  3. Read the box headed “You’re joining…”. It tells you what the organisation will see.
  4. Enter your first name and your email address. Your last name and mobile number are optional.
  5. Select Email me a link.
  6. Open the email and select Join and start.
Check the programme name before you go on.
Your details, then Email me a link.

Nothing happens to your account until you open the link. When you do, we sign you in and take you straight to the assessment. If you are new to Verve Lead, this also creates your account.

How do I type the code?

The code has 8 letters and numbers, shown in 2 groups of 4 – like ABCD-EFGH. You can type it in capitals or lower case, with or without the hyphen.

If you cannot tell whether a character is the letter O or a zero, either works. The same goes for the letters I and L and the number 1.

Type the code from the screen.

Once you have typed all 8 characters, the page names the programme. If it says “We don’t recognise that code”, check it against the screen.

What if the email does not come?

After you select Email me a link, you see a Check your email screen.

The screen you see after asking for a link.
  • Check your spam or junk folder.
  • On the Check your email screen, select Send it again. If we sent one only a moment ago, we wait a little before sending another.
  • Scan the code again, rather than using the usual sign-in page.

The link in the email lasts 7 days, so you can open it later – on the way home, or the next week. If you have already joined, we do not send another link. Sign in as usual instead.

The page always says “Check your email”, even when we could not send one. If nothing arrives, the code may have been turned off or reached its limit of people. Ask the person running the session.

What am I joining?

You join the organisation as a member, and you join the group the programme is for. Whether you also join the programme itself depends on where it is up to when you open the link.

When you open the linkWhat you join
Before the first round opensThe organisation and the group. When the first round opens, you join the programme too, and the organisation emails you an invitation to take the assessment. An assessment you complete before then does not count for the programme, so wait for that email.
While the first round is openThe organisation, the group and the programme.
After the first round has closedThe organisation and the group, but not the programme’s before-and-after measurement.
After the programme has finishedNothing. The page tells you the programme has finished.

If the code is turned off or expires before you open the link, you do not join. The page tells you why.

What you see if a programme has finished.

When the follow-up round opens, the organisation emails everyone in the programme to take the assessment once more. The before-and-after comparison only includes people who answered both times.

What if I already have an account?

Use the email address you already sign in with. We add the organisation to your account, alongside any others you belong to. If you already belong to this one, your role stays the same.

If you belong to more than one organisation, see how to switch between them.

Can I join in the iPhone or iPad app?

No. The Verve Lead app for iPhone and iPad is in testing, and it has no place to enter a code. Join in your phone’s web browser instead – scanning the QR code opens the join page there.

Once you have joined, you can sign in to the app with the same email address.

Can I leave a programme?

Yes. Ask one of the organisation’s administrators. They can take you off the programme until it finishes. You keep your account, your place in the group and every assessment you have completed.

Still not sure?

Ask us and a real person will answer. If you lead an organisation and would like to see Verve Lead with your own leaders in mind, we would be glad to show you around.
