This video shows how to set your welcome note and your booking link. Your welcome message goes into the invitations you send to new mentees. Your booking link lets them choose a time to talk with you. This video shows the web app. The app for iPhone and iPad is in testing. Start by selecting Profile in the sidebar. Find the Mentoring card. It holds your welcome message and your booking link. Your default welcome message can be up to 500 characters. To write a new one, clear the box, then type your message. Next, add your booking link in the Booking link (Calendly) box. Any booking page will do, as long as its address starts with https. Then select Save. The page confirms it with a Saved message, in green. Each time you invite someone, the invite form starts with your saved message. You can change it for that person, or clear it to send no message that time. Your booking link follows your note in the invitation, as a book a time link. Your mentees also see your booking link on their dashboard until they complete their first assessment, and in their results. On their dashboard, they see it once they accept you, and also while your request is waiting. If the page says the booking link must be a full https address, check that it starts with https. You can change both settings at any time. The full guide, with pictures, is in the Verve Lead help guides.

A new mentee feels more at home when they hear from you personally, and when it is easy to find a time to talk. Your mentor profile holds both:

  • a welcome message that goes into the invitations you send
  • a booking link – for example, your Calendly page – so your mentees can choose a time with you.

You set them once, and we use them each time. You can set them if you hold a mentoring role in your organisation, or are one of its administrators.

How do I set them on the web?

  1. Select Profile in the sidebar.
  2. Find the Mentoring card. It says “What new mentees receive when you invite them.”
  3. Write your Default welcome message, up to 500 characters. If you have never saved one, the box holds a suggested message for you to make your own.
  4. Paste your Booking link (Calendly). Any booking page will do, as long as its address starts with https://.
  5. Select Save.
Your welcome message and booking link, on your profile.

If the page says “Could not save”, check that the booking link is a full address that starts with https://.

How do I set them on iPhone or iPad?

The Verve Lead app for iPhone and iPad is in testing.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Under Mentoring, tap Mentee invitations.
  3. Edit the Default welcome message and the Booking link (Calendly).
  4. Tap Save.
Settings, then Mentee invitations.
Edit both, then tap Save.

On iPad, the same screens open from Settings in the sidebar.

Where does my welcome message go?

Into the invitations you send to new mentees, under “A note from” and your name. If an administrator resends an invitation that names you as the mentor, that email carries your saved message too. That includes invitations the administrator sent themselves, with you named as the mentor.

If you have saved a booking link, it follows your note as a book a time link.

Each time you invite someone, the invite form starts with your saved message. You can change it for that person, or clear it to send no message that time. Your saved message stays as it was. See inviting a mentee.

A resent invitation carries your saved message and booking link, not any change you made to that one invitation.

Your booking link appears in 4 places, as a Book a time button or link:

WhereWhen
The invitation emailEvery invitation you send, and any invitation an administrator resends that names you as the mentor.
Your first steps (or Your first step, once they have accepted you), on their dashboardFrom when they join until they complete their first Health of a Christian Leader Assessment (HCLA). The button reads Book a time with and your first name.
Next step, at the top of their HCLA resultsWhenever they open their results, on the web and in the app.
The email with their reportWhen they complete a Personal Reflection HCLA. The email with their report invites them to book a time with you.
Your booking link on a new mentee's dashboard.
The Next step card on your mentee's results.

People see your link once they have accepted you as their mentor, and also while your mentor request to them is still waiting. If someone already has a mentor with a booking link, they see that mentor’s link rather than yours.
